Revision Websites: A-level Biology

If you're anything like me, you may have multiple tabs set up for revision sites, terrified that you might lose them forever because it takes you such a long time to find some good, useful sources of revision.

Luckily for you, I have compiled a list of the most useful FREE revision sites for different subjects, starting with Biology!

1. https://mathsmadeeasy.co.uk/a-level-biology-revision/

Here you will find a bank of past paper questions, topic questions and their mark schemes. They are also organised by exam board so you can choose the questions that are specific to you!

2. https://app.senecalearning.com/courses?Price=Free

If you haven’t heard of Seneca before you are in luck. Not only does this site explain all the Biology modules for different exam boards in a way that is easily understandable, there are also interactive tasks such as filling in the missing word, identifying wrong phrases, multiple choice questions (especially helpful for OCR Biology) and many more. This way you are testing the knowledge that you learn/already have to make sure you really understand and remember it for your exams.

3. https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/biology-revision/

Physics and Maths tutor is an absolutely amazing site. There are flashcards, past papers both from the new spec and the old spec (pre 2018 to use as even more practice) as well as organised topic tests with mark schemes again for ALL exams boards. This site really got me through A-level Biology, especially when figuring out how to answer specific styles of questions. There are also summary sheets for each module so that you have a condensed set of notes to also revise from.

4. http://astarbiology.com/a-level/

Here you will find a combination of notes and diagrams for all my visual learners out there. You can also find some comparison tables such as the roles of membranes within and outside a cell.

5. https://snaprevise.co.uk/free-page/14434/A-level-Biology-Cheatsheet

Another set of compact revision notes with diagrams!

Then of course you have the wonderful world of youtube where you can find hundreds of videos specific to the module and exam board you need e.g.

- SnapRevise

- StudyMind

- Biology Carol

- Crash Course

- Free Science Lessons

These are some of my favourite sites and when used effectively to deepen your knowledge and understanding of the A-Level Biology content, will help you towards achieving your desired grades!
